Kaldo & Mokai

Kaldo and Mokai tapestries are inspired by masks and traditional textile wall decoration. The different coloured segments are mixed and combined with fine structures and embroidery. The flat textile basis sandwiched with a quilted surface gives rise to a voluminous material while the pattern intensity controls the thickness of the different zones. The project is still in development, as the textile is reinforced by a construction and thus stands out three-dimensionally from the wall. The tapestries are produced as one off pieces in italy made from Kvadrat and velvet textile. The project was created in cooperation with Hanna Emelie Ernsting.
